Just a little update on the work that I am doing for the play. Here is the start of the ticket design featuring Carl the Janitor….
The Breakfast Club
My friend Karen has decided to add to the minimal list of clubs available at her Cegep by starting a drama club.
Their first production will be a stage performance based on the amazing 80′s movie, ‘The Breakfast Club’, and will also star my dear boyfriend Mikey as the butt taping jock, Andrew. To do my part I have offered my design skills to make up the posters, programmes and tickets.
Here is a little preview of the series of posters that I am working on for the play:
I’m back!
So I am sorry that it has been so long since I have posted anything but I have been working on a few bits and pieces here and there and have not been able to put them up until now.
The first two are the front and back of a postcard that I designed to help promote the Alternative Libraries that are part of the 2110 Centre for Gender Advocacy at Concordia University. I am currently volunteering for them and am honoured to contribute some of my design work. The people I am working with are all really great and have made me feel really welcome. I am looking forward to spending some more time there in the new year and would love to do some more creative projects with them!
If you are intrigued and would like to learn more about the Alternative Libraries and the 2110 Centre you can visit there website here —-> http://www.centre2110.org/
The second is a poster promoting a poster design competition that the centre is having…. I shall post my entry as soon as I can
Life Drawing
So a couple of weeks ago I took a life drawing class for the first time at Studio Technique with my friend Kristy and have finally managed to get the scanner working.
It was a bit tricky at first as they don’t give you very much time to draw between each pose but after a wee while I relaxed a bit and got the hang of it. I am definitely feeling a bit on the rusty side with my drawing but I am sure that if I keep practising it will all come back to me.
Here are just a few of the sketches from the class:
Amaaaazing!!!!
Ok, so it has been brought to my attention that I have been slightly overusing the word ‘amazing’ so I have whipped out the old thesaurus and made some edits to my previous posts. Hopefully this shall be more to a certain somebody’s liking *cough…..Hannah*
Anyway, here is a quick shot that I took of the big ugly apartment building across the street from us. Although it is not so aesthetically pleasing during the day, I kind of like to see it all lit up at night and all these separate lives crammed into one space….. kind of like an ant farm!
Autumn Sky
Here are a few photos that I took before class at Loyola. I know I just posted some pictures of the campus but the sky was such a*edit- stupendous* colour that I couldn’t resist!
Concordia
Hello folks. These are a few photos I took around the Loyola Campus of Concordia University. It is such a pretty building and the colours of the leaves are *edit- fantastical*.
Hello world!
Hello there friends, family, and anyone else who is interested!
So I have finally decided to become a blogger! I figured this would be a great way to share my thoughts, my new life in Montreal, and hopefully my art with everyone…. especially those of you back in the homeland!
I am currently working on my portfolio to get into Design at Concordia University so over the next few months I am going to be doing all kinds of creative projects from Life Drawing to photography to sculpture to web design. It seems like a *edit- wondrous* programme and I feel like I will be right at home there. A lot of my posts will be keeping you up to date on what I am working on and I would love to hear what you guys think. What you like, what you don’t like and and any advice you may have.
To kick off, here are a few of my favourite photos I have taken since being in Montreal. A few of them I took before going back to Scotland but most of them are fairly recent.
Enjoy x
